“Great teaching: every lesson, every day, for every child”

Our 12th Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) Annual Leadership Conference took place on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 November 2023 at Nottingham Venues: The East Midlands Conference Centre (EMCC) and Orchard Hotel, University Park, Beeston Lane, Nottingham, NG7 2RJ.

Over 200 key staff, principals, chairs of governors, children and special guests attended from across OAT.

This year’s conference focussed on the core purpose of our organisation ‘great teaching’ and helped leaders to explore:

• What is #greatteaching?
• How do we create a culture of great teaching and continued improvement?
• What does it mean to be a leader within OAT?

The annual conference brought OAT leaders together to share ideas and good practice. It was also a chance to discuss where we want to be as a trust in the future and, more importantly, how we will get there. 

Children from our schools featured throughout the two days, hosting, as panel members and performing. We were also lucky enough to host some globally renowned speakers including Tom Sherrington and Owen Eastwood.
